Gate fold – Joy fold card

Hello, thank you for visiting me today. I would love to show you a multi-layered and lets call it multifunctional card made with one of the new soon to be released girl stamps called “Emma - Birthday Presents

This card will decently impress the person you are going to give it to, but if you never made one before please do not be intimidated. It is so easy and i think it took me less than a normal folded card where i worry about my layers ect.

Claudia_Rosa_Happy Birthday friend_4

First cut your card base 12x6 inches. Than score you gate fold style card base at 3 and 9 inches. Fold in, now you could just leave the card like this or create a new fold, which is called “Joy-Fold”.
Cut a new piece of cardstock slightly smaller, mine here is 5x10 and scored in half.
I glued one half of this second cardstock BEHIND the right panel of the gate fold. See below picture for reference.

decorate all panels with your Design papers first and add your sewing machine stitching to it.
One important note to remember:
If you are decorating your card front. Make sure you are not choosing too large embellishments you want to add to the side where your joy fold opens. In my case the card opens from the right to the left. My embellishments are small and do not get over the folded panel. If you do so, you can not open the card properly. You could add larger embellishments by example to the right bottom corner. Before you adhere your embellishments permanently, open and close your folds to see if it works nicely.

I have added to one panel a pocket. I am going to give with this card some metal dies as a birthday present away. This is going to be an unexpected surprise after she opens all the folds. Or at least i hope so :-), some pull out tags would be cute as well.

Supplies:
Papers: My Minds Eye Lime Twist “Happy Go LUcky”
Sentiment: by Nicole Verkojen and Lili of the Valley and Stempelglede
Dies: Magnolia (lace, leaves) all through Sir Stampalot

Don’t forget to check out the web site specials for newly added deals and the new class schedule!

I hope i could inspire you to try maybe something new or something you have not make in a while.
Love Claudia
