Ant Life Sweet - Magnolia DTC #2 Szene

This week at Cute Card Thursday we want you to challenge to make a card WITHOUT any designer paper. You can emboss your paper with you Cuttlebug :-)

I had this szene in my head for a while but i always pushed it away cause i have to admit this is not a 2 hour project :-) All the coloring, cutting and adding the elements took me 4.5 hours. But i must say.. thats exactly what i love about Magnolia stamps... i love to see how a nice szene comes togehter.. it is just something special. I made a few step by step pictures on how i created this card. Sorry the pictures are not very good.. it got really late that night and the dining room table does not have a good lamp.

All the elements are added onto different hights of spacer to give this card a nice 3-Dimension. I colored the bird two times .. once on the white cs and the cut out bird too. The sky is colored with twinkeling H2O for shimmer - and because iam out of the air can for my Copic air brush system :-)

Stamps: All are Magnolia
cute lil ant is from Alota Rubberstamps the sentiment is computer generated

Step 1
I start out with a sketch - the birch tree is very large and i do not have such a big block so i help myself with a plate "B" for my Cuttlebug. It works just as well. I do not cut my paper at this point to size.. this will allow me to cut off eventually some flaws that can happen later while stamping the other elements.
Step 2.
The tree gets masked off... you see that the scale of the tree and the wall does not fit. I want to be able to have some grass and have my ants crawling at the bottom.

Step 3.
mask wall to the right size (hight)

Step 4.
Now the brick wall is stamped. See the "flaws"? there is a tiny line around the tree trunk and on the left side the connections from the brick wall does not match as good as the first time i stamped it. (that point is right about under the tree) I do not really worry about this right now.. you can over i would say 80% of these things later up with all the cute little accessory stamps Magnolia has to offer :-) even if it is just a tiny ladybug or a butterfly. There is ALWAYS something :-)Step 5.
I added my grassline - again i use the stamp-ma-jig for that

Step 6:
(now it got late you can see the pic is really yellow -sorry)
I color in my elements there is a step by step on how i color in the brick wall. you can find it here.
Step 7:
after all elements are colored in and i play with them on my main szene i cut my paper to size.
