diamond envelope card with tutorial

Hello sweets,

today I’d like to show you a card including tutorial I have made for consideration for the forthcoming Magnolia Ink Issue. The card has been already shown from Magnolia on Facebook as Summer Inspiration, thank you, so I would like to show you today the card also.
You may remember the card style I have been making this card since probably 2008 my very first card used the first Princess Tilda where she is holding a frog in her hands. The card folds up and in the inside you will have a square page where you can add matching images or just a plain sentiment. I skipped that part on this card since it was probably going to be photographed for the magazine anyways from the front only.

Wassermann_1Supplies used on my card:
Tilda Aquarius
Magnolia ink Double sided paper Blue vintage hydrangea
Magnolia Sentiment
LaLa Land Heart tree die, Magnolia Doo Hickey Envelope die, Doo Hickey Tildas tag, Doo Hickey
Other: Gesso, pearl, Prima Marketing flowers, burlap, Distress ink, Brushes, Water colour paper, seam binding ribbon, Stickles,

Supplies:

1 sheet double sided Designer paper (DSP)
I used Magnolia ink, paper trimmer, 12” paper cutter, scoring tool, bone folder, Adhesive if desired
to finish card:
stamps, sentiments, ribbon, dies and flowers
Directions:
Step 1: Cut DSP to 11x11
Step 2:
Fold DSP into a triangle shape, by folding paper corner to corner.

Step 2

Step 3:
score on long side of your Design paper on each side (left and right tip) towards the inside at 5.5” and 3”
Step 4:
score on the tip of your triangle shape at 3.5. Making sure you will get a straight fold.

Step 3

Step 5: cut excess paper with between scoring lines out (see picture 2)

step 5

Step 6: burnish all your score lines with your bone folder
Step 7: pick up your 3 inch tip and lift it up. The paper naturally will make a little pocket. Fold paper down and create a “diamond shaped pocket

step 7
Step 8: repeat this on other side

Step 8

Step 9: Turn your paper upside down, so the part that was on your work surface is now facing you

Step 9: Fold left “arm” on long side to the right, the right “arm” to the left and secure the top flap into the pocket. Congratulations, you have created an envelope card.

Step 9

Play with the top tip you use to tuck in your diamond pocket. You can now have either the right side of your DSP or the wrong side of your DSP showing. If you decide to have the opposite pattern showing simply tuck one triangle in the front pocket and fold the second piece to the backside. Adhere.

Step 10
step 11

Decorate the outside of card with one of Magnolia’s wonderful Tilda images, color, cut image out and adhere to front of card with dimensional adhesive. Personalize your card on the inside with a pretty sentiment Magnolia has to offer.
