Keeping busy

Crissy_Romney_1

Hi there.. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend yesterday and for those of you who are mom’s I hope you got spoiled as you all deserved!
I must say, I had intended to color and craft but I really am so unmotivated with all my stuff gone.. I will show you some pictures further down. First let me show you a new triangular scarf I have made for my very dear friend Crissy for Mothers Day. It has arrived in time so I can show the photos here.

I thought Crissy would like something with color but on the “muted” colors, when she goes for a walk with Buddy. I think the colors can be easily matched with jeans, coats or earthy tees. The pattern was easy to knit, just purl and stockinette stitch however additional knowledge of provisional cast on (I used crochet hook method), Kitchener stitch (I had to go to my yarn shop so the owner can help me) and “surprisingly stretchy bind off” by Elizabeth Zimmerman is helpful.

Yarn: Noro Silk Garden – 3 Skeins I forgot the color number (love love love Noro Smile

Here are some shots of my new craft space…
I can use some shelves of a book case in my boy’s room for my embellishments, dies, some sentiments, Magnolia paper and flowers. Bottom shelf is full with kids school books and some of my knitting patterns. I have some boxes from the company who cleared out the basement to store some of my cardstock in.

This is a peek of the desk I was working today on a little card for Lili of the Valley. I share the desk with the boys. It was kind of nice.. I could sit with Niklas while he did his online reading assignments on the computer to the left while I was coloring, but it is TIGHT! The sewing machine is sitting there but I can not really use it because the cord is too short on the foot pedal.

Some of my 6x6 papers, I have a few Magnolia stamps and some embellishments as ribbons in this room as well but I noticed today that I miss just simple things like buttons and my full collection of ribbons here. Oh well.. I am not complaining. At least I have a desk, in my early beginnings I had to craft on the dining room table and had to clear up everything multiple times during the day.

stash of paper

Well.. I let you go… thanks for peeking in and tomorrow I can show finally a new card again.
