You Tube – Coloring backgrounds 1

Poppy by Krista Smith

Hi ladies,

today I have just a small video for you to share. Debbie asked me a while back how I color my backgrounds in. She purchased a few of my cards but had trouble to recreate the effect.
I hope this one helps a bit.

hubby said I was chatty today Smile

Image is by Krista Smithher name is Poppy and can be found here.

You got to check it out.. she just uploaded on Friday new images… bummer now I saw many more I want.

Funny but today I was using one of your images to teach myself how to add some highlights to an image and wondered how the heck you got that halo. I tried Copics and then I read in another post that it was Prisma's. Oooooooh well that makes more sense! LOL! Oh I am SO gonna try this and I can't wait to see your card when it's done. Thanks for doing that for us!!

Hi Claudia, it was a pleasure to see and hear you!!!
I am using Derwent coloursoft pencils and the "odorless terpentine". Would that work just as well you think?? I don't know what you mention/use whenever you put your stump into that jar. Please let me know, it can be in German if that's easier for you. What paper do you use for the image?

Dankeschoen, Irene

WOW.. I love it.. I have never understood what to do with that blending stump...Or what it is called..
Now I understand a bit more... Is it possible to use this with ordinary water colour pencils too?.
I would love to get the name (correct).. So that I can try it with my pencils.....(water colour pencisl..)..
Great image.. And your colouring is Fantastic as always..
Great Tutorial... Now I want to try this too. :o)
