Mid-contrast coloring

Hello,

today is my first posting for the “Copic Europe” blog. Some of you might know already about this new blog but for those of you who do not.. let me tell you a bit about it.

This is not a new challenge blog! The blog is from Copic enthusiasts to others who like Copic markers. We are going to have each day a posting up, the Design Team is going to provide cards and tutorials, information about Copic classes held Europe and sometimes there are going to be prizes up for grasp.

Claudia_Rosa_EmbraceHappiness_1
I am especially happy to be able to contribute because I am going to be able to represent Germany Smile.  Iam going to post in 2 languages, German and English. The idea of the new blog is to give you some basic information for those of you who just start out and maybe some tips for those of you who are already advanced.

Iam not Copic certified, so all iam going to  be able to tell you is about my style and my experience in paper choice and coloring, but if you have specific questions we have plenty of Designers who can give you the correct answer based on the Copic hand book to any problem you might have.

Claudia_Rosa_EmbraceHappiness_2
Iam calling this coloring: Mid contrast coloring – meaning the lighter areas in clothing and skin still has a good coverage with color
If you color high contrast you would leave white areas or color with a really light color (triple colors) some areas in

Skill level: Medium to intermediate – some understanding in how to achieve folds in clothing and blending several colors together is required

Additional tip: I used my Copic Multi Liner 0.05 to add a frame to my shape. Simply leave the ring on your paper and trace along the line. This gives interest and saves some time if you are usually sewing on your cards like I do

Copic Glitter pens are nice to add some sparkle to your image without covering all the work you have done on your image.
I used some on clothing and on the seeds. You are maybe able to see that in the shot below.

Colors used: E50-51-34-59-44-40-41-43-0000-000-13-00-55
R20, YG 91-95-97-W0-1-3, BV08,13,02,000, C9, 4-2-1-0-

Gorgeous card Claudia, you are the best at colouring with the Copics, I'm still struggling a little bit with them, even though I do enjoy using them. I'm trying to learn from you! Joined the new site already. Thanks for the inspiration hun. Hugs, Frea
