Hi ladies, thank you so much for swinging by. Well… today was my last appointment at the dentist… and OMG.. i hope the pain i have had the past 2 weeks will be finally coming to an end now :-(
I just noticed the photos are a bit blurry… sorry for that. The card was worked using Donalda’s cute sketch from Just Magnolia this week. If you read my blog here and there you may know that i usually try to keep my text small so can hop to the next site you like to see. Today i would love to talk though a little bit about some products.
On the front of my card i used one of those new metal border dies. One of THE best things that came on the market last year i.m.o.!! Especially for people like me, who have really limited space in their craft area. They are so easy to store, compared to the regular paper punches. In fact, i have not purchased a Martha Stewart punch in at least 5 months!
I store all my new border dies on a magnet sheet and have those sorted in clear clam shell boxes (Circles, Squares, pendants, borders, and so on – used a label maker for that)
There are a few new companies that come to my mind who offer cute metal border dies Magnolia (Sir Stampalot has a fabulous selection), Crealies, Whiff of Joy, Verve Visual and My favorite Stamps .
MFT is maker of the the border die i used on my card today. The patterns are sooo cute.. i could not resist and the dies are selling out in no time as soon they the store has them in stock. However… i must say the borders from MFS have one thing aim disappointed with it is, that the die actually cuts the pattern AND the top – which leaves you with just a tiny strip. Therefore you have to cut your mat for your DP and than stick that tiny border underneath it, not to mention about the small glue line you have to attach that piece to the mat. I have noticed that i very rarely pick those dies from my collection because of that reason. From now on when i choose my dies i make sure that the top is open, this way i can layer my Design paper right on my mat with the decorative edge. I will stay away from border dies who cut the top as well.
