Hello good morning.
Today I would love to show you this criss-cross style card. My friend Jeanette has challenged Inge and myself to make a card using this style. She also has a wonderful step by stamp video tutorial posted on the Whiff Of Joy Challenge blog by adding some lace ribbon, flowers and pins.. i hope it will work for this weeks challenge on Cute Card Thursday (Touchy Feely) as well. I believe i have not made a card like this in 3 years.. it was quite fun and it is so great, that i had space to play with several stamps and it is not cluttered at all.
The wonderful stamps from the Whiff Of Joy stamp collection are a great choice because they all co-ordinate.. less to worry about. I have used sentiments and image stamps from the 2 latest kits.
If you are going to visit my friends blogs you are going to see several ways how they have decorated the inside panel of the card. I liked that rose patterned paper and i did not want to cover it up with a image or embellishments.. so it went to the inside but if i would have added a big panel where it would be space to write on.. i would have had the same issue. So, i carried the style with the oval shape to the inside – decorated that and added to the back of the pull out paper a white piece of cardstock. Voila’ lots of space to add a message to the recipient and not to worry that the handwriting is showing in the front. (just if you are like me and dislike your own handwriting) :-)
Stamps: Spring Sentiments (available separate)March kit available though Whiff Of Joy of at any of the retailers who carry those stamps – may i suggest Cute Stamps and Cards?
